Tomato Soup with Garlic Shrimp

I just love this Spanish-style tomato soup. Its excellent with a grilled goat cheese sandwich with a little prosciutto and basil. Also with some garlicky shrimp. It has a wine-y flavor that is just lovely and the creaminess comes from using bread rather than a bunch of cream, though I do use a little milk.

Need:
can of plain tomatoes
white wine
chopped garlic
olive oil
bread
milk (I used whole milk today, because I have it)

Shrimp
garlic
salt
white pepper
sugar
cayenne pepper
garlic powder
olive oil

Add chopped garlic to some olive oil in a large sauce pan.

Add can of tomatoes and white wine. Bring to a boil.

Tear up bread and put in blender, add tomatoes and blend. Remember to take the middle thingy out of the lid and cover with a towel so that the heat doesn't create a pressure build-up in the blender and spew hot liquid all over the kitchen when you turn it on. No bueno.

In a bowl, add the garlic powder, white pepper, salt, cayenne pepper, and sugar to the shrimp and stir. Make sure shrimp are dry.

Add a bunch of olive oil to a pan and add chopped garlic. Heat on low so that the garlic does not burn.

Add shrimp and cook until done.

Pour soup into a bowl, add shrimp and drizzle with olive oil. I'm having this for lunch tomorrow at work-o!
