Anyone who knows me knows that I am severely challenged in the baking department. I'm not a scientist (baker), I'm an artist (cook). I once screwed up a boxed cake by not whisking the eggs before mixing them into the batter. My slices of chocolate cake had giant egg yolks baked into the middle of them.... yeah...
that bad. I've had some successes, but they've been lucky breaks. Anyway, I found an very easy pizza dough recipe because my son LOVES pizza and we were eating it once a week up until recently. Its thin crust and the shape is irregular, but gosh darn it, it tastes like pizza in the end.
Dough:
1 packet of yeast
1 cup of warm water
1 tsp of sugar
2 1/2 C of regular flour
1 tsp of salt
some olive oil
Put the packet of yeast in a cup with warm water and sugar and let it grow for about 5-10 minutes.
Put flour and salt in a bowl and then add the yeasty water mixture.
Stir and then cover for about 20 minutes.
See how it grows? Oil up your hands, knead the dough in your hands (because it is very sticky).
Then try to spread out evenly on pizza pan. See the irregularity? Its beautiful. ALL of my babies are beautiful.
That was one eggy-ass cake, but I ate it anyway. The eggs were like prizes!
ReplyDeleteI really kneaded this today
